Fall Pheasant Hunts
(October 15 thru January 1)South Dakota Pheasant Hunting

We offer South Dakota wild bird hunting at its best.  No pen raised birds here.  Our bird numbers range from 4,000 to 6,000 birds each year.  You will be hunting on our private land near Pierre.  Mostly walking and blocking methods with retreiving dogs are used.  Our professional guides will pick you up each morning and take you hunting for the day.  Each farm we hunt has half mile strips of special planted year round cover set aside for hunting and habitat.  There are a large number of birds in every strip.  They fly very high, hard and fast when flushed.  All birds are naturally hatched in the wild among thousands of acres of land we farm. 

Our hunters are amazed at the numbers of birds they see each day.  Virtually all of our clients bag their limits of pheasants each year.  An unforgettable experience with some of the most challenging shots you'll find anywhere.  Truly a hunters paradise!

Cast and Blast Combination Hunts
(two events per day)

noon, have lunch if desired and then fish during the warmest part of the day for walleye until sundown. There are very few places in North America where you can leave the fields in your hunting clothes and minutes later hop in a boat and catch walleye.  Please try to do
this if you can.  This may become of the greatest days you will ever have.

Fall Waterfowl Hunts
(November thru February)

South Dakota Goose HuntingThe open water of the Missouri River is an important part of the "Central Flyway" for the waterfowl migrations. We also farm 450 acres of farmland located near the Oahe Dam north of Pierre.  There are three new 8 man heated pits we can use to decoy geese.  Late November thru February is the best time to hunt geese here in Pierre.  Our pits are located directly in the main flyway above the dam. 

Leftover non-resident licenses for 3 day private land only NRW-OOX-86 (for decoy goose hunts) are usually available  over the counter after the early season drawings are completed.  You will also need to purchase a federal waterfowl stamp or bring one with you.   We also offer duck hunting on Lake Oahe out of a 22' waterfowl boat and blind.  To participate in this hunt, you must secure a license by applying online on or before July 12, 2011 and draw a statewide 10 day NRW-00B-86 non-resident waterfowl license.  There will be no leftover licenses after this drawing.

About Our Trips

private group huntsWe specialize in private group hunts.  Your private rooms and meals are arranged for you at one of our finest hotels in Pierre.  After the hunt, we transport you back to Pierre and you are free to relax, visit with your friends, check out the town and come and go as you please.  We will also take you to other fine restaurants in the Pierre area if desired.

We prefer groups ranging from 4 to 16 hunters if possible.  If you have a group larger than that, we will split you up into smaller groups so that everyone will have an opportunity to hunt different farms each day with our guides.  There is no minimum day requirements.  We work hard to make sure everyone has a good opportunity to shoot.  For some, it has become an annual event.  If you have a group that may be looking for this type of private hunting experience, please give us a call.

  • Three day pheasant hunt - double room - $1250. 
  • Three day pheasant hunt - single room - $1450. 
  • Four day pheasant hunt - double room - $1650. 
  • Four day pheasant hunt - single room - $1850. 
  • Five day pheasant hunt - single room - $2050.
  • Three day combination hunt - 2 species per day- double room - $1850.
  • Three day combination hunt - 2 species per day - single room - $2050.

5.5% sales tax is included in the price.

Day Rates:

You do your own lodging and meals.  We provide premium shells, transportation and bird cleaning in the day hunt rate.

  • Guided pheasant hunt - $250.
  • Guided half day waterfowl hunt or fish - $200.
  • Guided waterfowl hunt - $250.

5.5% sales tax is included in the price.

Cash or check is preferred with a deposit of 50% down to book.
An ATM machine is available onsite for all credit card transactions.
