]]> Our Alaska group enjoyed a blast and cast trip last week. The weather was a little cold and windy at times. Everyone shot lots of birds and at least caught one or two walleye. The river current in Pierre has gotten up to 92000 CFS and we are done fishing this year until it goes back down.

]]> This time of year with all the bait fish available, the walleye fishing has slowed down but the catfish we are catching is off the charts. Some of the larger cats really fight and are hard to bring in. My fingers are raw from removing hooks from fish. There’s a 1 gallon bag fillet limit in my boat. We have also been getting about a 1 gallon bag of walleye also.

]]> Today our 50 walleye bite did not happen. We did get our limits though. Something happened last night and it was all muddy where we caught our fish the other day. We had to go to the other side of the lake where we caught fewer but nice fish back in the bays under the mud. We have openings in July and August. If you are wanting to fish Lake Oahe, the fishing has been excellent with nice healthy walleye this year.
