Cole’s 8.5 pound walleye
High School freshman catches nice walleye on July 23rd. I had the two younger boys Kaleb and Cole today. Today was Cole’s personal best walleye 8 1/2 pounds 27 1/2 inches. They are part of a family group that has been fishing here for more than 20 years.
Hilgemann Group from Wisconsin
We guided the Hilgemann group from Stratford, Wisconsin. It was finally a nice day and we go some nicer walleye to show for it. We have had our share of wind this year. The walleye are still coming out of 25 to 35 feet of water. There are small 12-14″ walleye everywhere in the system and you just have to go through the smaller walleye to get a couple larger ones here and there. Hopefully they will stay shallow all season. We are catching 40 to 50 fish on a good day.
Nice walleye moving down the Missouri
Ben from Helena, Montana released this nice fish yesterday morning. It was in excellent shape. If you would like to go on a trip we are fully booked for July, but have openings August 3-5, 9-13, and 17-24. Give me a call!
Colorado Anglers Strike Gold in Lake Oahe
Nearly all these walleye range between 18 to 22 inches and are fat, healthy and growing. This is one of the heaviest catches of the year so far. They bit but action was fairly slow this morning compared to others and when the wind came up they scattered and we struggled to get the last one.
Happy 4th of July Weekend Everyone!
There were lots of boats out there fishing and recreating today. Everyone looks to be having a great time. We managed to catch this nice stringer of walleye also. The fish seem to be anywhere from 13 to 22 feet. We caught a couple on cranks yesterday but it was somewhat slow bottom bouncers and slow death seem to be better.
Limits In-between Summer Storms
This group out of North Platte caught some right away in the morning, then we went to shore twice for rain and lightening in the distance. We managed to get back out there and get our limits of walleye and other species between storms and got back safely to the resort. Amen.
Lake Oahe. Great weather, great fishing!
You can tell these guys had a great time catching walleye on Lake Oahe by the smiles on their faces.
Missouri couple take in some Lake Oahe walleye fishing
Pete and Peg from St. Louis, Missouri stopped by for a day of fishing on Lake Oahe. Windy conditions made fishing difficult, but they managed to catch and release a few smaller ones and a nice 22 inch walleye.
Excellent Catch on Lake Oahe
Had a great time with Darrell Johnson of Spearfish and his two grandsons on Lake Oahe today. Winds were SE 20 mph and we drifted a small flat west of little bend around 8-10 feet.
Lake Oahe Walleyes
We fished Lake Oahe the last three days, our best day was Friday with four limits of nice walleye. The fish are looking a lot healthier this year due to the smelt spawn and stocking the lower end with walleye has helped tremendously.
Great Day on Lake Sharpe
We had a great day on Lake Sharpe. We finished up around 1:30 pm. Caught lots of walleye shallow, around 6-8 feet.
Walleye Bite Near Pierre
Although we had a cool spring the warmer weather has finally arrived. Walleyes large, small and all sizes in between are being caught. Get away from the riots and come out to Pierre for a little relaxation! We have June 14-20 open.
