Record Hail June 27 and 29 narrowly misses our farm.

Record Hail June 27 and 29 narrowly misses our farm.

After the hunting season, we could clearly see that the hail damage did affect the pheasant population on our place and definitely south and east of us.  Birds do move around and although there were pockets of wild birds here and there.  It was not the season we were used to seeing up here for sure.  I’ve got my order in for spring hens already.  If we can have a “normal” year here for a change the pheasants will be back in full force.

Great Bite on Lower End of Oahe.

Great Bite on Lower End of Oahe.

We have plenty of guide openings for July thru August and the bite is good.  50 fish of mainly walleye and a few bass per day is not uncommon.  Get a hold of me by phone or text to set up a trip.  Be patient.  You will more than likely have to leave a message as there is no service many areas of the lake.

Proud Angler Walleye

Proud Angler Walleye

This fish stood the ultimate test of surviving Oahe’s flood of 2011 and the lack of smelt emergency 8 fish limit of 2012.  It managed to keep alive for all those years but as you can see she is very old, declining and in poor physical shape so the angler decided to keep her to mount.
